A GLIMPSE ON NASOM AND THE SPECIAL CHILDREN
NASOM is an intervention center for kids with autism. What is autism? Simply put, autism is a brain problem that can make it hard for kids to communicate. The main symptom you can see is that most can’t talk. Not because they can’t make sounds. It’s just that they are unable to form words. Although some can talk just fine. They are usually in their own world and can be very obsessive with one or two things (you’ll see from the list). In some of the lists, they write down things that they like to do or what their interests are. Some ask for things that can be used in their physical and occupational therapy. These kids are very visual creatures. They learn better when they see something rather than people trying to teach them. That's why byk yg mintak iPad la, computer la... They find it hard to interact with people.
